A quick and delicious recipe for creamy ground beef stroganoff that feels like a warm hug, perfect for a hearty meal without much effort.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion (diced)
- 1 lb mushrooms (sliced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your heavy, deep pan over medium-high heat with the olive oil.
- Add the ground beef and stir to break it down into small pieces.
- Toss in the diced onions and minced garlic, sauté until translucent and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for another 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the flour and stir until fully incorporated.
- Pour in beef broth, heavy whipping cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and fold in the sour cream, stirring to combine. Adjust seasonings if needed.
- Serve over noodles, rice, or potatoes.
Notes
Feel free to adjust flavors and add veggies if desired. Can use ground turkey or chicken as alternatives to beef.
