Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Melt the butter and mix in the brown sugar until well combined, then pour into the bottom of the prepared pan and sprinkle the blueberries on top.
- Cream together the additional butter and granulated sugar, then add eggs, milk, and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the cake batter over the blueberries in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with ice cream.
