Description

A fun and festive twist on a classic Caprese salad, perfect for Halloween celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 8-ounce package fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 10-ounce package cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)


Instructions

  1. Place one mozzarella pearl in each skull mold.
  2. Heat the cheese in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, or in an oven at 350°F for 6-8 minutes, or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to soften without melting.
  3. Gently apply pressure on each cheese ball with paper towels to press it into the mold and soak up excess liquid.
  4. Refrigerate the molds for about 10 minutes to firm the cheese.
  5. Press each mold to pop out the formed skulls.
  6. In a mixing bowl, add mozzarella skulls and halved cherry tomatoes; toss with olive oil and balsamic vinegar until well coated.
  7. Transfer the salad to a serving plate or bowl. Top with salt, pepper, and fresh basil.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
