A fun and festive twist on a classic Caprese salad, perfect for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients
- 8-ounce package fresh mozzarella pearls
- 10-ounce package cherry tomatoes, halved
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Place one mozzarella pearl in each skull mold.
- Heat the cheese in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, or in an oven at 350°F for 6-8 minutes, or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to soften without melting.
- Gently apply pressure on each cheese ball with paper towels to press it into the mold and soak up excess liquid.
- Refrigerate the molds for about 10 minutes to firm the cheese.
- Press each mold to pop out the formed skulls.
- In a mixing bowl, add mozzarella skulls and halved cherry tomatoes; toss with olive oil and balsamic vinegar until well coated.
- Transfer the salad to a serving plate or bowl. Top with salt, pepper, and fresh basil.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
