A festive and fun dish that brings a spooky twist to your Halloween celebrations with carved skull-shaped potatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds of red mini creamer potatoes
- 4 cups of water
- 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper
- Parsley flakes (fresh or dried)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 385°F (196°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash the mini potatoes and set them aside.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with cold water in a bowl.
- Carefully carve skull faces into each potato using a paring knife.
- Place the carved potatoes in the lemon water to prevent browning.
- In another bowl, combine olive oil, remaining lemon juice, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Drain the potatoes and toss them in the seasoning mixture until fully coated.
- Arrange the seasoned potatoes on the baking sheet with carved faces up.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and tender.
- Garnish with toppings and additional salt if desired.
