Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Paprika for garnish
- Olives or black beans for eyes
Instructions
- Hard boil the eggs: Begin by placing the eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pot and remove it from the heat. Allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for 12 minutes.
- Cool the eggs: After the eggs have been cooked, transfer them to an ice bath immediately. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes.
- Peel the eggs: Once cooled, carefully peel the shell off each egg.
- Prepare the filling: Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks.
- Mix the yolk mixture: In a bowl, mash the yolks together with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the halved egg whites.
- Garnish: Sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs and place olives or black beans on top to serve as eyes.
- Serve chilled: Arrange the deviled eggs on a platter and serve them chilled.
Notes
Use older eggs for easier peeling. Experiment with additional spices for a unique flavor.
