Description

A fun and easy recipe for Spooky Deviled Eggs, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Olives or black beans for eyes

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs: Begin by placing the eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pot and remove it from the heat. Allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for 12 minutes.
  2. Cool the eggs: After the eggs have been cooked, transfer them to an ice bath immediately. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel the eggs: Once cooled, carefully peel the shell off each egg.
  4. Prepare the filling: Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks.
  5. Mix the yolk mixture: In a bowl, mash the yolks together with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the halved egg whites.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs and place olives or black beans on top to serve as eyes.
  8. Serve chilled: Arrange the deviled eggs on a platter and serve them chilled.

Notes

Use older eggs for easier peeling. Experiment with additional spices for a unique flavor.
