Ingredients
- 6 oz (170g) egg noodles
- 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup (56g) butter
- 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
- 1 1/4 cups (300ml) milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup (60g) sour cream
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Add egg noodles and cook until al dente (about 6 to 8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Break it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- Melt the butter in the skillet and whisk in the flour. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add the beef broth and milk, whisking until thickened (about 5 to 7 minutes).
- Season the sauce with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Adjust to taste.
- Stir in the cooked beef and noodles until all are coated in the sauce.
- Remove from heat and mix in the sour cream. Stir well and serve immediately. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
Avoid adding sour cream too early to prevent curdling. This dish pairs well with garlic bread or a simple salad.
