Description
A comforting and savory dish of beef and noodles in a rich broth, perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 1 tablespoon flour (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until softened. Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, then bring to a boil.
- Add egg noodles to the boiling broth, reduce heat, and let simmer for 8-10 minutes until the noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
- If desired, make a slurry with flour and water. Add to the skillet while stirring to thicken the sauce.
- Season the dish with salt and pepper, stir, and serve hot.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, use the optional flour slurry. Consider adding vegetables like carrots or peas for added nutrition.
