Description

A comforting and savory dish of beef and noodles in a rich broth, perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon flour (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until softened. Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, then bring to a boil.
  3. Add egg noodles to the boiling broth, reduce heat, and let simmer for 8-10 minutes until the noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. If desired, make a slurry with flour and water. Add to the skillet while stirring to thicken the sauce.
  5. Season the dish with salt and pepper, stir, and serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, use the optional flour slurry. Consider adding vegetables like carrots or peas for added nutrition.
