Description

A classic dish of tender potatoes layered in creamy goodness, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the cream mixture and half of the cheeses.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use a mandoline for uniformly thin potato slices and consider adding breadcrumbs for a crunchy top.
