A classic dish of tender potatoes layered in creamy goodness, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, mix the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the cream mixture and half of the cheeses.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 20-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
Use a mandoline for uniformly thin potato slices and consider adding breadcrumbs for a crunchy top.
