Description

Delicious Salted Caramel Apple Crumble Bars that celebrate the essence of fall with tart apples, warm spices, and rich caramel.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (approximately 3 medium-sized apples)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Gradually add in the flour, stirring until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Press approximately two-thirds of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the sliced apples with the ground cinnamon and nutmeg, tossing gently for even coating.
  6. Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the pan.
  7. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce generously over the apples.
  8. Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the top.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apple slices are tender.
  10. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares or rectangles.
