Description

A comforting and savory round steak dish with garlic, potatoes, and mozzarella, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb round steak
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium potatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 1 can mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients together.
  2. Peel and chop potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Slice onion and wash the baby carrots.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the round steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  5. Layer the chopped potatoes, sliced onion, and baby carrots over the steak.
  6. Pour mushroom soup over the steak and veggies, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Cover and simmer on low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top a few minutes before serving and cover until melted.
  9. Serve warm on plates, enjoying with a side salad or crusty bread.

Notes

For best results, tenderize the meat before cooking and avoid overcooking to maintain juiciness.
