Description
A rich and creamy beef stroganoff that is quick and easy to prepare, perfect for satisfying cravings without a lot of fuss.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms, and sauté until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir.
- Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Bring to a simmer, then stir in sour cream and add the cooked beef back to the skillet.
- Season with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust as needed.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
For alternatives, chicken or mushrooms can be used instead of beef, and Greek yogurt can replace sour cream. This dish is freezer-friendly if the sour cream is added after reheating.
