Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 2 flaky pie crusts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion, carrots, and celery, cooking until they are tender.
- Stir in flour and allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk, stirring until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy.
- Add the cooked chicken and green peas, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
- Pour the filling into a pie crust placed in a pie dish.
- Cover with another pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken for a quicker meal. Customize vegetables based on your preference.
