A quick and easy one-pan meal featuring shrimp, orzo pasta, and rich Parmesan cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the orzo and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is al dente.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet. Mix everything gently and heat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley, if using, and serve.
Notes
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
