Description

A creamy and comforting beef stroganoff that is easy to make and incredibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium white onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 pound egg noodles
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Toss the beef strips with flour until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef strips until browned on all sides. Remove beef from the skillet.
  4. Melt butter in the same skillet and add sliced onion and mushrooms. Cook until soft and golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the browned bits from the skillet. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add beef back into the skillet and let it simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard. Let it simmer on low heat for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  8. Spoon the stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and serve immediately.

Notes

Garnish with parsley if desired. Ensure not to overcook the beef for best texture.
