Description

Delicious and visually captivating Nutella Mummy Hand Pies, perfect for Halloween gatherings or any fun occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of ready roll puff pastry (Vegan & gluten-free)
  • 6 tablespoons of Vegan Nutella
  • 2 medium-sized bananas
  • 3 tablespoons of dairy-free milk (for the ‘egg wash’)
  • 2 tablespoons of caster/granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of dairy-free white chocolate buttons
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar (for dusting)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and slice each sheet into rectangles (approximately 10×15 cm / 4×6 inches).
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of Vegan Nutella on half of each rectangle and place banana slices on top.
  4. Fold the pastry over to create pockets and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Cut thin strips from the remaining puff pastry and layer them over the hand pies to create a mummy look.
  6. Brush dairy-free milk on the tops of the pies for a golden glaze.
  7. Sprinkle caster sugar over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Once baked, remove, let cool slightly, and dollop melted dairy-free white chocolate for eyes.
  10. Dust with icing sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is cold for best results and feel free to experiment with different fillings.
