Delicious and visually captivating Nutella Mummy Hand Pies, perfect for Halloween gatherings or any fun occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets of ready roll puff pastry (Vegan & gluten-free)
- 6 tablespoons of Vegan Nutella
- 2 medium-sized bananas
- 3 tablespoons of dairy-free milk (for the ‘egg wash’)
- 2 tablespoons of caster/granulated sugar
- 1 packet of dairy-free white chocolate buttons
- 2 tablespoons of icing sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and slice each sheet into rectangles (approximately 10×15 cm / 4×6 inches).
- Spread 1 tablespoon of Vegan Nutella on half of each rectangle and place banana slices on top.
- Fold the pastry over to create pockets and seal the edges with a fork.
- Cut thin strips from the remaining puff pastry and layer them over the hand pies to create a mummy look.
- Brush dairy-free milk on the tops of the pies for a golden glaze.
- Sprinkle caster sugar over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Once baked, remove, let cool slightly, and dollop melted dairy-free white chocolate for eyes.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving.
Notes
Ensure puff pastry is cold for best results and feel free to experiment with different fillings.
