Description
Quick and flavorful Mongolian-inspired ground beef noodles made in one skillet.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 10 oz linguine
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- Brown that beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Garlic time: Add the minced garlic to the browned beef and cook for about a minute.
- Mix in all the goodness: Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Make a slurry: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir until sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Noodles meet sauce: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss until well-coated with sauce.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sliced green onions on top and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option. Add veggies like bell peppers or broccoli for extra crunch.
