Description

A comforting and cheesy baked spaghetti dish perfect for family gatherings and potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until golden brown, then drain excess fat.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, browned sausage, cottage cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider adding ricotta cheese. Ensure the sausage is well-cooked before combining it with the other ingredients.
