Ingredients
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until golden brown, then drain excess fat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, browned sausage, cottage cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider adding ricotta cheese. Ensure the sausage is well-cooked before combining it with the other ingredients.
