Description

A quick and easy recipe for tender chicken thighs coated in a savory-sweet honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons water (or chicken broth preferred)
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and ground black pepper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, sugar, soy sauce, water (or chicken broth), minced garlic, and cayenne pepper; stir well.
  3. Turn on Sauté mode on the Instant Pot, add oil, and pan-sear the chicken thighs skin side down until golden brown.
  4. Add remaining oil and minced garlic to the pot; sauté for about a minute.
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, secure the lid, and cook on High pressure for 10 minutes.
  6. After cooking, use Quick Release and carefully remove the lid. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with rice or steamed vegetables. Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for spiciness.
