A quick and easy recipe for tender chicken thighs coated in a savory-sweet honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons water (or chicken broth preferred)
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and ground black pepper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, sugar, soy sauce, water (or chicken broth), minced garlic, and cayenne pepper; stir well.
- Turn on Sauté mode on the Instant Pot, add oil, and pan-sear the chicken thighs skin side down until golden brown.
- Add remaining oil and minced garlic to the pot; sauté for about a minute.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, secure the lid, and cook on High pressure for 10 minutes.
- After cooking, use Quick Release and carefully remove the lid. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve with rice or steamed vegetables. Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for spiciness.
