A quick and easy Beef Stroganoff recipe that’s rich, savory, and perfect for a cozy night in.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the beef strips and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a simmer.
- Return the beef to the skillet, reduce heat and allow flavors to meld.
- Stir in the sour cream and heat through gently, without boiling.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. You can also try using ground beef or chicken instead of sirloin.
