Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or butter, for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into manageable bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the diced onions and cook until soft.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden.
  4. Toss in the beef pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  6. Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute to thicken.
  7. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, stirring to combine. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  8. Turn off the heat and gently mix in the sour cream until creamy.
  9. Serve hot over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Be sure to brown the beef for best flavor. Feel free to use chicken or vegetables as alternatives.
