Description

The World’s Easiest Comfort Food packed with layers of fluffy potatoes, gooey cheese, and hearty ground beef.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft (3-4 minutes).
  4. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the baking dish and layer the potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.
  6. Pour beef broth or water around the edges of the casserole and drizzle with milk if desired.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
