Delicious and healthy muffins that are quick and easy to make, perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup mashed bananas
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine mashed bananas, honey (or maple syrup), and applesauce.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter and make sure to preheat your oven.
