Delightfully spooky chocolate-covered strawberries, perfect for Halloween festivities.
Ingredients
- 20 fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
- 1 cup dark or semisweet chocolate chips (or melting wafers)
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (or melting wafers)
- 40 candy eyes
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash the strawberries and pat them dry.
- Melt the Dark Chocolate: Heat dark chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals until smooth. Stir in coconut oil if desired.
- Dip the Strawberries: Dip each strawberry into melted dark chocolate, covering about three-quarters. Shake off excess and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Add the Eyes: While still wet, press two candy eyes onto each strawberry.
- Melt the White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate chips in a separate bowl using the same method.
- Create the Mummy Wraps: Drizzle melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate-covered strawberries to mimic mummy bandages.
- Set and Serve: Let the strawberries sit until the chocolate hardens, or refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for better texture. Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping.
