Description

A comforting and quick ground beef stroganoff recipe that comes together in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 packet (0.87 oz) brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 bag (12 oz) wide egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the wide egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and brown gravy mix.
  5. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix to combine.
  6. Add the cream of mushroom soup and stir to incorporate fully. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream.
  8. Add the cooked egg noodles to the sauce and toss gently to coat. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid boiling the mixture after adding sour cream to keep it smooth. You can substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken, and sour cream with Greek yogurt if desired.
