Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic; cook until onions are translucent.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat and mix in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce; season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
For a variation, you can use ground turkey or chicken, Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, or even vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
