A hassle-free casserole that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with classic beef stroganoff, all baked into one delicious dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cups cooked egg noodles
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or cheddar)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onions until they are translucent and caramelized.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth, mixing well until combined.
- Fold in the cooked egg noodles and sour cream until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef, and use Greek yogurt in place of sour cream for a healthier option.
