Description
A fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween, combining classic Rice Krispie treats with creative decorations.
Ingredients
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- One 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 10 oz green candy melts
- 3 oz black candy melts
- Royal icing eyes
- Black jimmies sprinkles
Instructions
- Butter a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over low-medium heat.
- Add mini marshmallows and stir until smooth.
- Gradually mix in rice krispie cereal until evenly coated.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared dish and press down firmly.
- Set at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Cut the cooled treats into rectangles.
- Melt green candy melts in a bowl over boiling water, adding vegetable shortening if needed.
- Dip the top of each treat in melted green candy melts and roll in black jimmies.
- Add two royal icing eyes to each treat.
- Melt black candy melts for piping stitches on the treats.
- Let treats set completely before serving.
