Description
A delicious and easy slow cooker beef stroganoff that allows the beef to cook for hours while you relax. Serve it with egg noodles or rice for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 8 oz fresh cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Season that beef with salt and pepper.
- Sauté onions and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until translucent.
- Brown the seasoned beef in the skillet until it forms a crust.
- Transfer the beef and onions to the slow cooker, add mushrooms, broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Stir in the sour cream before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, avoid skipping the browning step. You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream or use other vegetables if desired.
