Description

These Easy Halloween Ghost Cupcakes are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween parties and celebrations, featuring a rich chocolate flavor and cute ghostly appearance.


Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 batch of whipped frosting
  • Chocolate chips (for eyes)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. Using whipped frosting, pipe ghost shapes onto each cupcake.
  9. Place chocolate chips on for eyes to complete the ghost look.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Cupcakes can be frozen without frosting for up to 3 months.
