Description

A quick and comforting dish of ground beef, mushrooms, and creamy sauce served over egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles for serving
  • Steamed green beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the meat is no longer pink and onions are soft.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they’ve softened and released their juices.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the beef and mushroom mixture and stir it in to thicken the sauce.
  4. Gradually pour in the beef broth, scraping up any brown bits stuck to the bottom. Bring to a simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and sour cream, mixing until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles, garnished with steamed green beans.
