Description

A delightful twist on classic French onion soup, this Easy French Onion Pasta combines caramelized onions, rich beef broth, and creamy Gruyère cheese for a cozy and indulgent dish.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (like fettuccine or spaghetti)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in beef broth and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream and cooked pasta, stirring well to coat.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in Gruyère cheese until melted.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For an even cheesier experience, feel free to increase the amount of Gruyère cheese. Consider adding fresh thyme for an aromatic twist.
