Description

A classic Beef Stroganoff with tender beef in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for any dinner table.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or mashed potatoes for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until onions become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, around 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, mix, then gradually add beef broth, stirring continuously until sauce thickens.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream until well blended.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and heat through, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a healthier dish, you can use low-fat sour cream or serve with whole wheat noodles.
