Description

A hearty and comforting Beef Stroganoff recipe with tender beef in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the sliced beef with salt and pepper. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef in batches for 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining butter, chopped onions, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and moisture evaporates, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir, and gradually add beef broth while stirring until thickened. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, then return the beef to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes, then fold in sour cream until combined.
  6. Serve over egg noodles or rice, garnished with parsley.
