Description
A quick and easy version of Beef Stroganoff that’s creamy, savory, and perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
- Add mushrooms and cook until golden.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to coat.
- Gradually add beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in sour cream and return the beef to the skillet.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
Notes
For variations, use chicken or Greek yogurt instead of beef or sour cream, respectively.
