Description

A quick and easy version of Beef Stroganoff that’s creamy, savory, and perfect for a cozy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef and cook until browned, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  4. Add mushrooms and cook until golden.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to coat.
  6. Gradually add beef broth and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
  8. Stir in sour cream and return the beef to the skillet.
  9. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Notes

For variations, use chicken or Greek yogurt instead of beef or sour cream, respectively.
