Description

A quick and creamy beef stroganoff that combines tender beef strips, mushrooms, and egg noodles for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
  2. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, working in batches if necessary.
  3. Stir in mushrooms and cook until softened, allowing them to release and reabsorb their juices.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir well.
  5. Gradually pour in beef broth, bring to a simmer, and cook for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Reduce heat, stir in sour cream, and heat through without boiling.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, then serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
