Ingredients
- 1 cup sweet rice flour (mochi flour)
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Cornstarch (for dusting)
- Your favorite filling (like chocolate, peanut butter, or fruit jam)
- Edible eyes or chocolate chips (for decorating)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix sweet rice flour, water, and sugar until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe dish.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and microwave it for 2 minutes. Stir the mixture and then microwave for another 1-2 minutes until it is sticky and thick.
- Let the mochi cool for a few minutes.
- Dust your working surface with cornstarch, then place the mochi on it.
- Divide the mochi into small pieces and flatten each piece with your hands.
- Place a spoonful of your chosen filling in the center of each piece and fold the mochi around the filling. Pinch the top to seal it.
- Shape the mochi into ghost forms, leaving the top open to create a ghost shape.
- Place edible eyes or chocolate chips on the front to give your ghosts a spooky look.
- Repeat with the remaining mochi and fillings.
Notes
Use cornstarch to prevent sticking. Experiment with different fillings to find your favorite. Ensure the mochi is well sealed.
