Description

Fun and spooky Ghost Filled Mochi, perfect for Halloween gatherings. These cute treats with sweet fillings delight both kids and adults!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet rice flour (mochi flour)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Cornstarch (for dusting)
  • Your favorite filling (like chocolate, peanut butter, or fruit jam)
  • Edible eyes or chocolate chips (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sweet rice flour, water, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe dish.
  3. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and microwave it for 2 minutes. Stir the mixture and then microwave for another 1-2 minutes until it is sticky and thick.
  4. Let the mochi cool for a few minutes.
  5. Dust your working surface with cornstarch, then place the mochi on it.
  6. Divide the mochi into small pieces and flatten each piece with your hands.
  7. Place a spoonful of your chosen filling in the center of each piece and fold the mochi around the filling. Pinch the top to seal it.
  8. Shape the mochi into ghost forms, leaving the top open to create a ghost shape.
  9. Place edible eyes or chocolate chips on the front to give your ghosts a spooky look.
  10. Repeat with the remaining mochi and fillings.

Notes

Use cornstarch to prevent sticking. Experiment with different fillings to find your favorite. Ensure the mochi is well sealed.
