A comforting and creamy beef stroganoff made effortlessly in a crock pot, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef (chuck roast or sirloin), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ cup flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for searing (optional)
- Egg noodles, for serving
Instructions
- Season beef with salt and pepper.
- (Optional) Sear beef in a skillet until browned.
- Place beef, onions, mushrooms, and garlic in the crock pot.
- Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, mix sour cream and flour in a small bowl, then stir into the beef mixture.
- Cook for an additional 15 minutes to thicken.
- Meanwhile, prepare egg noodles according to package instructions.
- Serve beef stroganoff over noodles and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to adjust cooking time if substituting chicken for beef, as it cooks faster.
