Description

A delicious and easy-to-prepare crockpot cowboy casserole that cooks itself — just toss in the ingredients and relax.


Ingredients

  • 454 g lean ground beef
  • 240 ml sweet yellow onions, finely diced
  • 15 ml minced garlic
  • 454 g dark red kidney beans, undrained
  • 400 g frozen hash browns
  • 240 ml shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the onions and garlic until the beef is cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large crockpot, layer the cooked beef mixture, kidney beans, and frozen hash browns.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover until melted.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
