A comforting and delicious beef stroganoff made effortlessly in a crockpot.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the seasoned beef chunks on all sides for about five minutes per side.
- Transfer the seared beef to a crockpot and add the onions, garlic, mushrooms, and beef broth.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and any herbs you prefer. Cover the crockpot and set it to low heat.
- Let it simmer for 6-8 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the sour cream until fully combined.
Notes
Ensure to sear the beef first for better flavor. Avoid adding sour cream too early to prevent curdling.
