Description

Enjoy a healthier take on the classic chicken parmesan, featuring a crispy air fried coating and gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking spray or olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly coat with olive oil.
  5. Place the chicken breasts in the basket and spray the tops with additional cooking spray.
  6. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and crispy.
  7. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Allow the cheese to melt, then remove from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-dipping the chicken in beaten eggs before the breadcrumb coating.
