Description

A quick and delicious creamy ranch chicken dish that’s easy to make and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (58 oz. each)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (1 oz.) packet ranch seasoning mix
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1-inch thickness using a meat mallet. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the olive oil.
  3. Sear the chicken on each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove to a plate and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the remaining butter. Stir in the flour and cook for about one minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits stuck to the pan.
  6. Add milk, sour cream, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir until combined.
  7. Return the chicken and any plate juices to the pan and spoon the sauce over the chicken. Simmer until the chicken is heated through.
  8. Dish and serve hot, topped with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Feel free to substitute chicken thighs for breasts or add red pepper flakes for some heat.
