Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the beef stew meat over medium-high heat until a crust is formed.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for a few more minutes.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for about 120 minutes until the beef is tender.
- Slowly stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the stew to thicken.
- Serve the stew over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.
