Description

A warm and comforting dish combining tender beef, earthy mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for any family gathering or weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add onion and mushrooms, and sauté until tender.
  3. Add beef sirloin to the skillet and cook until golden-brown, about 3–5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over beef, stir well, and gradually pour in beef broth while stirring until the mixture thickens.
  5. Lower heat, stir in sour cream, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. Variations include using chicken instead of beef or adding more mushrooms.
