Ingredients
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into strips
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add onion and mushrooms, and sauté until tender.
- Add beef sirloin to the skillet and cook until golden-brown, about 3–5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over beef, stir well, and gradually pour in beef broth while stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Lower heat, stir in sour cream, and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with parsley.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. Variations include using chicken instead of beef or adding more mushrooms.
