Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy, 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon and drain excess grease on paper towels.
- Crumble the bacon into small pieces.
- Rub olive oil on both sides of each chicken breast.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chicken.
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet on medium-high heat and add the chicken, cooking for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked and cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
- Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes over the chicken before serving. Serve with fries or salad.
