A delicious twist on traditional banana bread with a cinnamon streusel topping, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- For the Cinnamon Streusel:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and sour cream until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- For the streusel topping, blend brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter using a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle it evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture.
