Description

A cozy and delicious beef stroganoff that combines tender beef, earthy mushrooms, and a creamy sauce served over egg noodles or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until softened.
  2. Add the garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms are browned.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the beef strips, cooking until browned.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir to coat.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Notes

You can use ribeye or a leaner cut of beef. For a gluten-free option, swap flour for a gluten-free blend. This dish can be made meatless by using seitan or firm tofu.
