Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (16.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until a soft dough forms. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread creamy peanut butter evenly over the cake base layer.
- In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 eggs and vanilla extract, and continue beating. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the peanut butter layer and spread evenly.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly gooey. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature for a smoother mixture. For a crunchier texture, add chopped peanuts on top of the peanut butter layer.
