A rich and creamy Chicken Stroganoff that’s a comforting dish for any dinner table, perfect for family meals or entertaining friends.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic; sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Slowly add the chicken broth while stirring, allowing it to thicken.
- Reduce the heat and stir in the sour cream until combined.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and cook until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
For longer storage, freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and heat in a saucepan or microwave.
