Description

A cozy, comforting one-pan meal featuring juicy steak, melted cheese, and fluffy rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb juicy steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add bite-sized steak pieces to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in uncooked rice and beef broth (or water), bringing the mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid, about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Once the rice is done, remove from heat and sprinkle shredded cheese on top, covering the skillet again until the cheese melts.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to substitute steak with chicken or shrimp, and use your favorite cheese.
