Description
A cozy, comforting one-pan meal featuring juicy steak, melted cheese, and fluffy rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb juicy steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Add bite-sized steak pieces to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
- Stir in uncooked rice and beef broth (or water), bringing the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid, about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the rice is done, remove from heat and sprinkle shredded cheese on top, covering the skillet again until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Feel free to substitute steak with chicken or shrimp, and use your favorite cheese.
