A comforting and flavorful weeknight meal that combines spicy sausage, aromatic veggies, and creamy pasta in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (penne or your choice)
- 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
- 1 bell pepper (diced)
- 1 onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Toss in the bell pepper, onion, and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
- Add the pasta and enough water to cover everything; bring it to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until pasta is cooked, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cheese until melted; season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
